SMITHVILLE – The Smithville High School varsity football team was defeated 33-13 at home by Geronimo Navarro High School last Friday as the Tigers hosted their Homecoming game.Navarro was able to get out to a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter and tacked on another score in the second quarter as the Panthers led the Tigers 13-0 at halftime.Facing a 20-0 deficit midway through the third quarter, Smithville finally got on the board as Tigers sophomore quarterback Trip Davis connected with junior wide receiver Ramonz Adams on a 35-yard touchdown pass to cut the Navarro lead to just 20-7.The ...
