The Elgin City Council heard an update on the city’s operations in light of COVID-19 during their meeting last Tuesday.
Instead of meeting exclusively virtually, the city council now meets either virtually or in-person on a case-by-case basis. The council held their first in-person meeting since going virtual on September 1, but the meeting is still livestreamed on YouTube. Other groups, such as the planning commission, are still meeting virtually, but want to return to in-person meetings, city manager Thomas Mattis said.
