Due to the broad impact on society of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) is taking measures to protect its workforce but preserve essential operations to our customers. As the pandemic has affected CARTS ridership significantly, and as a result of restrictions now in place and planned by local, state and federal governments, we must adjust our service. This includes reducing levels of service to meet only the essential transportation needs for our customers and reacting to service reductions made by contracting agencies that we provide service for.
