Elgin Juneteenth Organization sponsored “Shop with a Cop” on December 21, 2019 at the Walmart in Elgin. In this event, Elgin police officers were paired with local children and provided a $100 gift card from the Elgin Juneteenth Organization and their sponsors to spend on clothes and toys. The intent is not just about shopping, but also about building relationships between the kids and Elgin police officers.
