Students of all ages had an opportunity to learn more about programming at Elgin ISD’s first-ever coding camp, held last week at Neidig Elementary School.
Students began learning how to write computer code using Swift, Apple’s coding software. Swift was chosen for the camp because it is easy to understand, and Apple offers a curriculum teaching how to use it. Campers learned the language through games and other activities, such Playground, a place for introductory level programmers to experiment with code free of consequence.
