Six trucks from three different agencies battled a fire on U.S. Highway 290 last Wednesday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m. that afternoon, firefighters from Elgin Volunteer Fire Department (EFD), along with mutual aid from McDade Volunteer Fire Department and Bastrop County Emergency Services District #2, were called to a fire on Highway 290 between Elgin and Mc-Dade, near the intersection with Christensen Road on the other side of the highway.
