Smithville High School senior Nikolette Schmidt closed out her 2022 Track & Field campaign at Austin’s Mike A. Myers Stadium last Thursday evening, as she tied Stephenville’s Keidra Mills for a bronze medal in the girls pole vault 4A State Championship finals.As the school’s only athlete to advance to the State Meet, Schmidt earned five points for the Lady Tigers with a final result of 12-0.00 in the event, single-handedly pushing Smithville to a top-half finish (31st) among a field of 80 competing teams.Alencia Lentz, of Comal Canyon Lake, would ultimately take home first place in girls 4A pole vault,
