Texas high school football from the comfort of your home. On Tuesday, July 6, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) approved a proposal to allow Friday night Texas high school football games to be streamed live on the web for the 2021 season.
The measure passed the final legislative council by a clear majority — but not unanimous — vote overturning the longstanding rule prohibiting the live broadcast of Friday night games across the Lone Star State.
The rule was temporarily suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic, allowing games to be broadcast live on Friday night for the first time ever.
