Last Friday, Elgin’s volleyball team faced a formidable opponent in their first district matchup of the season, losing 3-0 to a 15-9 East View team. With the score tied at 5 early in the first set, East View went on a run to take a 13-6 lead. A spike by Josephine Jackson gave the Wildcats a burst of momentum later on to cut the deficit to 16-12.
