This is the first in a series of articles about fishing in Bastrop County. Each article will cover detailed information about the lakes, rivers and streams that call to the seasoned and novice anglers alike. Our first fabulous fishing spot in Bastrop County is Lake Bastrop. Lake Bastrop, which is overseen by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), was impounded in 1964. The surface area of Lake Bastrop is 906 acres with a maximum depth of sixty feet.
