After weeks of not being able to gather, Elgin Wildcat athletes were able to begin practice last week for the fall sports season. Due to COVID-19, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) delayed the first day of practice for Conference 5A schools like Elgin High School until September 7. The Wildcat varsity football team plan to play a scrimmage against Navarro High School at Burger Stadium in Austin on September 25, then play their first real game at home against Marble Falls on October 5.
