Dear Governor (Greg) Abbott: I join many of my colleagues in respectfully requesting your consideration of a reprieve for Rodney Reed, and that the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles conduct a further review of Mr. Reed’s case. The murder for which Mr. Reed is charged occurred in my district, and I have made it a priority to be well informed on the matter before forming my opinion. It is not customary for me to comment on judicial cases, but the details surrounding this case have become undeniably questionable. As you are aware, Mr. Reed is set for execution on November 20, 2019.
