Editor, Appreciate the Elgin Stories printed weekly in the Elgin Courier. I save several of the articles for my great-grandchildren—they all live in Tennessee and will only know about Elgin through these fantastic stories. They are very young now, but it’s a possibility that they will never visit Elgin, Texas. Their great-great-grandparents (Byrum and Ida Mae Pate) and their great-grandfather (Tennie Pate) were all born and raised in Elgin. I came on the scene much later (1954).
