A very special angel was called home on September 11, 2021. Aloha Cody, 75, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2021.

Born Aloha Tabitha Cody, on August 14, 1946, to her parents Ernest and Merlie Cody. Those who knew and loved her affectionately referred to her as Sissy. Although Sissy never had children, she cared for her many nieces and nephews as well as her friends as if they were her own. She is described by both family and friends as an angel, a saint, care giver, mother, aunt, grandma, a comedian, and a bit of a rebel at times. Her quick wit, candor, honest answers to tough questions and integrity were ever present virtues of her fine character. Sissy was a dedicated employee of Tracy’s grocery for thirty years. She was a fixture there and many Bastrop folks stopped by just to see her. After leaving Tracy’s, Sissy worked and volunteered as a home care giver and was a beacon of light and an angel to those she cared for. To know Sissy was to love her and admire her quiet strength. All who knew her will miss her greatly for there will be a void in our hearts and in our lives. Go rest high on that mountain Sissy, for your work on earth is done.

Sissy was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Merlie Cody; her brother, Donald Cody.

Sissy is survived by her brothers, Clifford Cody and wife Mary, Terry and wife Mary Cruz Cody.
