The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday afternoon a possible collision between an 18-wheeler semi-trailer truck and a train just north of the city.

Sheriff’s office deputies arrived to the scene on Texas 95 near Roemer Road around 2 p.m. June 11, reporting the truck “made a stop, but kept going” across the tracks.

According to deputies on site, there were no reported injuries.

The truck showed visible damage to the trailer in tow, split open from the collision, but the cabin remained intact.

State Troopers and Travis County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were also on site, along with Elgin Fire Department response vehicles, which left the scene around 2:15 p.m.

A series of tow trucks responded to the crash site, but the truck was still strewn across the highway’s shoulder as of 2:45 p.m.

The flow of traffic was only temporarily prohibited in the area.

More information to come as further details are revealed.
