Pet clinic celebrates grand opening

On Sunday, the Bastrop County Animal Shelter celebrated the grand opening of the Mary E. Barina Pet Wellness & Spay/Neuter Center with a ribbon cutting. The wellness clinic, named after a Smithville woman who left her estate for the benefit of animals which funded half of the facility, will provide low-cost basic pet care, such as vaccinations and spay/neuter services, for the community.
