Local man begins journey to support veterans

Lee Massengale is on a journey across Texas to help support local veterans.
Massengale began his Walk for Veterans last Wednesday at the Bastrop American Legion. The walk of 207 miles will end at the Armistead Veteran’s Memorial in Bishop, Texas.
Massengale’s walk is part of an even bigger benefit for veterans in the area: the first annual Patriotic Flag Co. Veterans Concert is being planned for the fall of this year at Blacktree Ranch in Smithville, with all proceeds going to local veteran charities. Donations of fifty cents per mile are being sought to fund this venture.
