Bastrop County taxing entities will be awarded $5 million as the result of settlement of a lawsuit growing out of the 2011 Bastrop Complex Fire. The suit was filed two years ago by a legal team assembled by local attorney Joe Grady Tuck, comprised of Tuck Law Group, PLLC, Dave Wenholz of Dripping Springs and Benjamin Shabot of Galveston, on behalf of Bastrop County, Bastrop ISD, Smithville ISD, & Emergency Services District No. 2.
