County discusses federal COVID-19 funds

During a special meeting last Monday morning, the Bastrop County Commissioners Court discussed applying for funding from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) program to offset the costs of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a letter from the state government to county and city leaders, Texas received $11.24 billion dollars from the CARES Act, of which $5.06 will go to local governments.
