Black Tree Ranch, located between Bastrop and Smithville, hosted their annual Independence Day celebration on July 5. This year's Freedom on the Hill celebration benefitted the Texas Firewalkers, a non-profit organization that aids families displaced by residential fires or impacted by the deaths of first responders in the line of duty.
