The general purpose of the Elgin Juneteenth Organization Scholarship Program and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Foundation is to provide financial assistance to high achieving students who reside in Elgin and are interested in pursuing a college education. The two 2019 Elgin Juneteenth Organization Scholarship recipients are Camari Stiggers and Janayja Jones. For the past 20 years, the Organization has given out a $500 scholarship to an Elgin senior with very high academic scores.
