The Elgin Juneteenth Organization will sponsor “Shop with a Cop” on Saturday, December 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walmart, 1320 West U.S. Highway 290 in Elgin. Elgin police officers are paired with local children ages five to ten years old and provided a gift card to spend on clothes and toys. The intent is not just about shopping, but also about building relationships between the kids and Elgin police officers.
