After missing the past two years due to the pandemic, Elgin’s annual Juneteenth Festival was back downtown this past weekend, bringing festivities, fellowship and family fun to Veterans Memorial Park. The festival began with a Friday night dance in the park, followed by the Juneteenth Grand Parade the next morning, bringing a line of local organizations marching down Main Street. The festivities continued in Veterans Memorial Park, with vendors and music throughout the day.
