Read moreOn Sunday morning, the Elgin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6115 hosted their annual Memorial Day ceremony, despite a few differences from their usual event caused by COVID-19 precautions. Instead of breakfast, the VFW offered just coffee and donuts to attendees, and the outdoor Memorial Day ceremony was held in front of a couple of rows of chairs spaced feet apart from each other. Post commander Chuck Swain, along with other leaders of the post, delivered a speech honoring those who lost their lives while serving their country.
